Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights

Dirty Dancing 2 is an American movie realized by Guy Ferland, that came out in 2004.

The story takes place in Cuba, in 1958, just before the Cuban Revolution. An American rich family is going to Havana, the capital of Cuba, because of the father’s work. The daughter, Katey Miller is an 18 years old teenager, who studies a lot and is very serious. Her parents used to be a famous dancing couple when they were young, that’s why she’s interested in dance. In Cuba, she’s going to meet a boy, Javier, who is a waiter at the hotel where she lives. He’s an excellent dancer. Katy discovers secretly the world of this boy and his dance which is said “dirty” because it’s a sexy dance and not a classical dance. The two teenagers, Javier and Katy, represent two different worlds, one is rich and the other is revolutionary and poor. Katy invites Javier to participate to a dance competition because he needs money. Finally, they fall in love for each other. The story finishes with the beginning of the Cuban revolution.

First of all, I love this movie because Diego Luna is one of my favorite actors. He’s a brilliant Mexican dancer. Dirty dancing is a great film because there are good dancers, good music, and the characters are really charming and nice.

This movie means that, the way you dance represent what you are, for example the rich family practice the ballroom dancing whereas Cuban poor people practice a sexy and dirty dancing because the dancing way depends on your culture, the period, the traditions…

Furthermore, it is not only the love story of two young dancers but it also tells the history of Cuba because, in that period, the revolutionaries, supported by Che Guevara and Fidel Castro, wanted to stop the dictator, Baptista, making a revolution.

Finally, two teenagers, coming from opposite worlds, are linked by the dance.

This film makes me want to go to Cuba, to discover this culture!

Harry Potter

I'll talk about books that have had a phenomenal success: the Harry Potter books.

Harry Potter is the name of a series of fantasy novel with seven books, written by J.K. Rowling.

They recount the adventures of an apprentice wizard named Harry Potter and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft.

The main plot concerns the confrontation between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort, a wizard that killed Harry's parents and attempted to seize power over the world.

To give some statistics, in June 2008, the books of the series have sold more than 420 million copies and translated into 67 languages.

His books have been adapted for cinema and several product lines were created after the success of JW Rowling's books.

ROCKY

I choose to talk about series called Rocky because it’s my favourite movies .
Rocky was created and interpreted by Sylvester Stallone, a very famous actor, it’s his first film, it came out in 1976 and it had a lot of success. There are six Rocky

The History
Rocky is an unknown fighter who lives in Philadelphia, he is poor, alone and works for mafioso. He has for only friend a man called Poly. Apollo Creed , the world heavyweight champion of boxing, wishes to give a chances to an unknown boxer to face him and win the championship.
Apollo chooses Rocky to fight him, the italian stallion, his nickname, accepts the challenge and begin training with Mickey, his coach . The fight lasts 15 rounds but Apollo wins because the judges vote for him, the public is suprised because Rocky resisted to the world champion.(the end of Rocky 1)
Apollo is upset and organizes a new fight at Philadelphia Spectrum and during this time, Rocky falls in love to Adrian who is the sister of Poly. The night of fight, Rocky taken out victorious.(the end of Rocky 2)
In Rocky 3 «eyes of tiger » , the italian stallion become rich,celebrate and he is the best boxer in the world, During a speech announcing his retreat, Clubber Lang arrives and offends Balboa because he wants to fight him for the world heavyweight championship. Rocky accepts the challenge but Rocky got the big-headed and his training is soft while Lang train very hard . Before the fight Mickey makes a heart attack and Rocky loses his concentration. Clubber ridicules him in 2 rounds, Rocky loses his championship. After the death of Mickey, Apollo Creed who retired, decids to train Rocky for his revenge but Rocky lost his nasty glance « eyes of tiger ».Rocky wants to stop the training but Adrian pushes Rocky to continue. It’s the return of the tiger. During the fight, Rocky tires the champion and wins the figth.

In Rocky 4, after his victory, a Russian arrives in the world of boxe and claims to be the best. Apollo wants to beat him to show that it is a loser but Ivan Drago is very strong and kicks down Apollo. During the fight, Apollo receives a punch and falls.
He died…
Rocky wants to avenge his friend and appointed a day for a fight, the 25 december, in Russia. When he arrived in Russia, he trains in snow while Drago trains with scientist and uses steroids. The fight arrives and Rocky makes his fight the most difficult in his life but he wins in 15 rounds. After the fight he has a headache, he sees again the punches of Drago.
In Rocky 5, Rocky retires of world boxe, loses all his money because of Poly who placed some money. The family Balboa returns to live in Philadelphia, in a poor houseRocky finds a job in the room of boxing and meets Tommy Gunn, a Young boxer who tells him if Rocky can training him. Balboa accepts, Tommy wins all his match but he is too much interested by money and he wants the world heavyweight championship. The média calls him Rocky’robot,Tommy begins to be fed up and he leaves Rocky for Georges Washington Dukes (organizer of event) who proposes a match for the championship. He wins the match but he isn’t estimate of public. Tommy is angry, Dukes say that he must fight against Balboa. A night, Tommy go to see Rocky in a bar and Gunn says he is ready to beat him but Rocky doesn’t pay attention on him. Paulie intervenes and says to him that he is a loser. Tommy hits him

In Rocky 6, Balboa opens a italian restaurant called Adrian because his wife died. Rocky is compared with the current world champion of boxing by a virtual fight he wins. The media are very intesterested by the idea and they want a match for the championship between Rocky and Mason Dixon. Rocky is agree with the idea, but everybody thinks that he can’t boxe. The fight is very tightened and last 15 rounds and at the end the judges decide to accord the victory to Mason Dixon but Rocky is happy because he finishes well his life...

These movies learnt me to exceed me in the field of the sport.

I choose to talk about a movie called "Remember me" . It came out approximately this summer at cine. The main actors are Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin , this director is Allen Coulter. The history takes place in the USA.

So, it's the history of a young man called Tyler, who a day leaving of club night interpose himself beetween txo persons who were fighting and he is hailed by the Police. He's victim of unfairness. Going to school, Tyler recognise one of them policeman accompaning his daughter to school. So Tyler's friend blurt out him a bet to accost his daughter and to speak with her. But Tyler fall in love with this girl, Ally, and they go steady togheter until she discovers the bet and she leaves him.
Throughout the history Tyler has many problems wih this father, he blame the lack of attention to his sister for this father, like he has done with him. At the end's movie Tyler is beset by distresses..., he is in one of buldings of NY, it was the eleventh of September of 2001 and I leave you imagine the continuation...
I loved so much this movie because it's a wonderful history, it's very moving and it finished by a fact actual.
