Today, I recently discovered a new website I want to share with you : Lyrics Training. Listening music has never been so helpful for school !
With Lyrics Training, you can improve your foreign language skills like Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, French and obsviously English. Learning a new language doesn't have to be boring, especially with Lyrics Training. The concept is quite simple : you choose one song among hundreds of them (but the choice should grow)and while listening and watching the videoclip , you have to fill the blanks (=missing words of the song) by taping them on your keyboard.
By the way, you can select three levels of difficulty : Beginner, Intermediate and Expert (I advice you to begin with Intermediate because I found Beginner level quite easy for our english level). If you are really skilled in english, Expert level is yours : you have to find ALL the lyrics of the song (and don't cheat please). Don't worry, the videoclip will stop if you're not fast enough to tape the lyrics. Moreover, you can replay the videoclip as you want.
There's more good points about Lyrics Training : indeed, at the end of the song, you get a score (like in video games) and you can compare yourself with users from different countries who have already tried this song. The faster you've been, the better your score will be. Unfortunately, I saw that there's not a lot of French people in the top 10.
The suggested songs are often the "Number One on the Charts" but there are also old ones, you have a large choice. Last but not least, you can take part in the website by creating an account. You'll be free to add new songs and see your improvements ! Here's the tutorial :
