Ghostbusters
The main characters are played by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. They play three parapsychologists, Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz and Egon Spengler, who think that ghosts exist and they want to capture them.
Their business is very good when a man of the environment department comes and releases all the ghosts in New York, and puts the Ghostbusters in jail. But Gozer, a demoniac god, wants to wreck the world. The Ghostbusters are called in to kill him.
Are they going to be successful ? You can know it if you watch the film.
Here is the trailer:
I like this film because Bill Murray is very funny and I love the song.
I advise you to see it.

Nineteen Eighty-Four
Eric Arthur Blair was born in Motihari, Bihar, British India where is father was a deputy of the opium department. While he was 1 year old he left for England with mother and sister. He studied at Eton College. Then he joined the Imperial Police of the Indies and went to Burma. When he came back to Europe he knew poverty. In 1936, he became a “Brigadista” during the Spanish Civil War but he was wounded. During 1945, he is a special correspondent from The Observer in France and Germany. He died in London because of tuberculosis.
Better known by his pen name : George Orwell, he was a novelist, a chronicler and a political journalist. Through his opus, he denounced injustices of the society, criticised the imperialism and showed the excesses of the totalitarism notably in Animal Farm and 1984.
Nineteen Eighty-Four was written by George Orwell in 1948, then published by Secker and Warburg in 1949. It is a dystopian novel about a society whose the only aim is to serve the only Party. Life in Airstrip One, new name of England after the Revolution, is dedicated to Big Brother the leading chief of the Party that rules Oceania, one of three intercontinental super-states.
The story of Winston Smith describes life in London after a Great Global War where states used the Atomic Weapon to fight to each other in the 50’s. Winston Smith is a member of the Outer Party. During the civil war, the Ingsoc movement (English socialism) in an orphanage for training and subsequent employment as a civil servant. Winston work at the Ministry of the Truth. He is an editor responsible for the historical revisionism concording the past to the Party’s contemporary official version of the past. Winston should have to use doublethink to forget what he did but he saw the proof that three political criminal killed by the Party were not guilty so he decides to keep a diary. He hates Big Brother and dreams of a free world. During, the story he meets Julia of whom he falls in love with. However, they have to hide their sentiments in this world of perpetual war, pervasive government surveillance and incessant public mind control.
Unfortunately, they will both get arrested. Winston learns that he was spied for 7 years. Then the character confesses crimes even those that he never did. Torture and brainwashing will convince them to betray themselves to each other.
As a conclusion, we know that the individual can’t rebel alone because the state is too powerful. I loved read this book because it was very interesting and learn about different aspects of the totalitarism.

The Chevrolet Volt
The Chevrolet Volt is Chevrolet’s new car model. Marketed in 2010 in the USA and in the end of 2011 in Europe, this car is revolutionary, as only electricity makes its wheels turn.
The Chevrolet Volt can run on a distance of 60km using the sole power of its battery. On this distance the Chevrolet Volt doesn’t emit any CO2, so this car is very ecological. The battery is recharged by connecting it in a 230v plug during 3 hours.
With the crisis of petroleum, the Chevrolet Volt is the solution. This car consume less than other hybrid cars. If you only use it to go to your job, you will only use the electric engine and you won't need petrol. The Chevrolet volt is an very economic car, only 2 centimes by kilometers. This car has smaller impact on the environment, and your money !But the Volt has a weak point : its price. This car costs 41.000 $ in the USA ; however, with the governmental tax credit the price lowers to 33.500$ only. However, in France the governmental tax credit is less important and the car costs 34.000 euros. It’s the price of German cars…

Queen
QUEEN are from right to left :
Freddie MERCURY, whose real name was Farrokh BULSARA, was born in the protectorate of Zanzibar in 1946 and died in 1991 in London. It’s maybe the most famous guy of this band.
He was the singer , the pianist and sometimes the guitarist for a little number of songs
Brian MAY , the guitarist of the band. . he raised his guitar (the “red special”) as a classical rock instrument by its utilisation of saturation sounds and its abilities to play every kind of musical styles. He is a great pianist and singer too.
Roger TAYLOR , the drummer and one of the founders with the guys above in 1970. He did the back vocals with Brian MAY
John DEACON , the bass player who join the band in 1971
At first, they turned towards heavy metal and other hard rock styles. We had to wait until 1975 and the creation of their biggest hit "Bohemian Rhapsody" to recognise the style we know them for. Moreover , you need to know that there were no leaders in this band. Stop thinking that Freddie MERCURY was the head of this for guys. He might be the autor of their greatest hit.
He might written their discography. But whitout the other musician, we would probably never have known famous songs like "We will rock you" , "I want to break free" and "Another one bites the dust". Besides, we surely would have heard songs like "Under presure", "I want it all" and "The show must go on" a different way.

The harp
The harp is a musical instrument with pinched ropes, as the guitar, with a colone and a sound box. It one of the most old instruments, because it dates 4.000 years before J.-C. The harp is universal, it has been played all aroud the world, for exemple by egyptians or african tribes.
In the Middle Ages the harp was handicaped by its diatonic scale, that means it could only play the seven notes : C, D, E, F, G, A, B (do ré mi fa sol la si); while others instruments had chromatic scale : they could play sharps # and flats b, so twelve notes. To resolve this problem, the arpa doppia or the double harp was created in Italia, with two rows of ropes. After, in 1697, the harp with seven pedals comes into the world, one for each note, that means 1.500 mechanical rooms into the colone.
The most part of the ropes are made in bowels or nylon, but the most grave are in metal. The ropes for the note C (do) are painted in red, those for the note F (fa) in blue, and the others are uncolored. The harp has the biggest tessiture (the number of notes) with the piano, until six octaves. A concert harp costs between 10.000 and 100.000 euros, but there are celtic harps for 1.000 euros.
Kanye West
- I am going to talk about Kanye West : he was born and lived with his parents in Georgia. He moved to Chicago in Illinois when he was 3 years old because his parents divorced. Kanye is a good singer, rapper and record producer. His songs are amazing! His mother, Donda West was a Professor of English in the University at Clark Atlanta. Then, she is the manager of her son, Kanye West. He works with « R&B » and « hip-hop » artists like The Game, Common, Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Jay-Z and others...
- Donda West died the 10 November 2007. She had a heart attack. For the first time, Kanye West spoke about the death of his mother : "It was like losing an arm and a leg " he said. After her death, he made an album called « 808's & Heartbreak ».
- Wu-Tang Clan's producer influenced him in his style. Then, on Graduation, his new album, Kanye was inspired from rock like The Rolling Stones, and U2. I like him for his style, his voice, his songs, and his life !
