Bill Gates, a great man?

What is a great man?

According to me, it’s someone who helps other people, without waiting for something back in return. It’s a person who is successful but who is not arrogant. It’s a person who inspires respect and marked History by his acts. During the last century, there aren’t numerous. For example, Churchill and de Gaulle for their devotion to their country, Nelson Mandela for the fight he realized for black people.

In my opinion, Bill Gates is the great man of modern time.

Here is his story, let’s have your own opinion.

Bill Gates is born in 1955, the same year as Steve Jobs (managing director of Apple). In his high school, he discovers informatics and spends more time with his computer than in classroom. He tries to earn money making bugs on corporation’s computers. In 1975 he leaves Harvard to create Traf’O Data, renamed later Microsoft.

Bill Gates is a visionary man because he sees that in the future each American family will own a computer. So, each computer sold in the world will make him earn money: he create Windows and impose it for each computer. So that Microsoft became the number 1 in the world, Windows equipped 90% of computers of the planet. At 33 years old, in 1986 Bill Gates became the youngest millionaire and 10 years after, the richest man in the world.

In 2000, he creates a foundation with his wife, Melinda to improve health and life conditions of children from poor countries. In 2008, he quit his company to spend his all time to his foundation. At his death, 95% of his fortune will go to it; the 5 % left will go to his children.

However some people criticize his action: according to the Los Angeles Time, Bill Gates and Melinda’s foundation made investments into companies who have bad impact on the environment and health and who is employing children. Then, other people criticize the way Bill Gates has earned money, with his monopole situation: Microsoft was sentence of 1.5 billion $ by Europe.

Recently, Bill Gates goes forward: he encourages other millionaires to give half of their fortunes to his association, as he says, “for a better world”.

Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights

Dirty Dancing 2 is an American movie realized by Guy Ferland, that came out in 2004.

The story takes place in Cuba, in 1958, just before the Cuban Revolution. An American rich family is going to Havana, the capital of Cuba, because of the father’s work. The daughter, Katey Miller is an 18 years old teenager, who studies a lot and is very serious. Her parents used to be a famous dancing couple when they were young, that’s why she’s interested in dance. In Cuba, she’s going to meet a boy, Javier, who is a waiter at the hotel where she lives. He’s an excellent dancer. Katy discovers secretly the world of this boy and his dance which is said “dirty” because it’s a sexy dance and not a classical dance. The two teenagers, Javier and Katy, represent two different worlds, one is rich and the other is revolutionary and poor. Katy invites Javier to participate to a dance competition because he needs money. Finally, they fall in love for each other. The story finishes with the beginning of the Cuban revolution.

First of all, I love this movie because Diego Luna is one of my favorite actors. He’s a brilliant Mexican dancer. Dirty dancing is a great film because there are good dancers, good music, and the characters are really charming and nice.
This movie means that, the way you dance represent what you are, for example the rich family practice the ballroom dancing whereas Cuban poor people practice a sexy and dirty dancing because the dancing way depends on your culture, the period, the traditions…
Furthermore, it is not only the love story of two young dancers but it also tells the history of Cuba because, in that period, the revolutionaries, supported by Che Guevara and Fidel Castro, wanted to stop the dictator, Baptista, making a revolution.
Finally, two teenagers, coming from opposite worlds, are linked by the dance.
This film makes me want to go to Cuba, to discover this culture!

James Stewart

I like to the motorsports, I would like to practice this sport but it doesn’t have a field of motocross. Only when I go to see my uncle, I  practice  motocross and it is very funny .
So I am going to introduce you to the king of motoscross : James stewart!
James Stewart is an American professional motocross racer competing in supercross. He is known for being the first African-American to have success at the top level of any major motorsports.

James Stewart Jr., known as James "Bubba" Stewart was born December 21, 1985 in Bartow, Florida.  His father, James Sr., was a motocross enthusiast and thought his son to the sport at the age of three.   He was four years old and he entered his first motocross race.
After having won eighty-four titles of supercross, Amateur national titles all before the age of 16, he debut as pro in 2002.
James Stewart was named Rookie of the year in his debut pro season in 2002. Two years later, he won both the AMA 125 east supercross Championship and the AMA 125 Motocross National Championship. And in 2008-2009, he did to complete a perfect motocross season: 24 wins in 24 races !
After a disappointing hand injury at the start of 2010, the season was not a success.
I hope that James looks to return and dominate of the season 2011.

Charlie Le Mindu

First, who is Charlie le Mindu ? He's just a 22-year-old hair dresser and wig designer. And he's french ! However, he's very very original : indeed, his creations are the craziest haircuts I have ever seen in my life. Lips, candy, tree style... Le Mindu doesn't have limits !

Indeed, Le Mindu is also a fashion designer, he creates clothes made of... hair (of course) or animals (mice or rats - but don't worry he's vegetarian-) for instance. Besides, in his last show (in September 2010), he sent naked models who just had accessories (shoes, hat...) to cover themselves. Eccentric man, isn't he ? :)

Charlie le Mindu became a very well-known hairdresser throughout the world : his customers' name are Peaches, Lady Gaga, MGMT, Vogue or Disney (he took part in a special event for the Raiponce movie : lucky women could get a haircut made by Le Mindu and look like the Disney heroine Raiponce).
If you want to receive Le Mindu's "talent", you will have to pay 150 dollars for a simple haircut, and over 240 dollars for a "technical" one ! (it can be even more expensive)

Charlie le Mindu for Disney

I admire Le Mindu for his eccentricity, his youth and above all for his creativity : for me, he's like an artist who is off the beaten track and one of the kind.
